Industrial and mining rail
Locomotive parts and engineering support for industrial short lines, mines, ports, steel works and plants that run EMD, ALCO or GE locomotives on their own track, usually far from the OEM network.

Industrial rail buys differently from a national railway: fewer units, older locomotives, small maintenance teams and no tender department. What matters is that the part is right the first time, that it arrives before the next shift, and that someone answers the phone when the reference on the nameplate does not match the parts book.
That is the work we do best. Send the engine model and a photo of the part or the nameplate; an engineer identifies it, and the quotation states genuine, remanufactured or qualified alternative with lead time and origin.
Questions we are asked
- We have two locomotives and no parts department. Is that too small?
No. Most industrial customers run one to five units. One engineer handles your account from enquiry to delivery.
- Can you help us identify a part without a part number?
Yes. Send a photo of the part and the engine nameplate. Identification is part of the quotation, not an extra.
Engines we cover
EMD 567

1938 to 1966 production, 6 to 16 cylinders. Switchers, industrial and heritage units, marine. Some assemblies upgrade to 645.
EMD 645

1965 onward, roots blown E and turbocharged E3 and F. The largest EMD population outside North America.
EMD 710

1984 to today, G and G3, mechanical and electronic injection. Not interchangeable with 645 in most assemblies.
ALCO 251

Four stroke, B to F variants, licence built for decades. The mainstay of South Asian fleets and many marine plants.
ALCO 244

The 251's predecessor, surviving in smaller numbers. Parts on request, identification first.
GE 7FDL

8, 12 and 16 cylinder four stroke behind GE export and domestic locomotives on every continent.
GE FDL-16

Sixteen cylinder FDL for the heavier road locomotives; ratings and generations differ.

Valves, seals, bearings, pneumatics, control modules and consumables for plants we already supply.
Older EMD 567 and 645 and ALCO 251 units on continuous low speed duty. Wear items, power assemblies and cooling parts dominate.
Heavy haul in dust and heat. Filters, cooling, turbocharger and injection parts on shorter intervals; we quote intervals with the parts.
Intermittent duty, long idle periods. Starting, electrical and fuel system items, plus the gaskets and seals that dry out.
Questions we are asked
- How do you price and quote?
Per line, in USD, CAD or EUR, with condition, lead time and origin stated. Validity to your tender terms. No price is ever shown on the website; every quotation is prepared by an engineer for your engine and destination.
- What if a part number is wrong or obsolete?
We say so before quoting, propose the current reference or a qualified alternative, and note the reason in writing so your file shows why.
- Can you hold stock for a fleet?
For recurring customers we agree a standing list with lead times and a consolidation cadence, so urgent items ship within days and bulk items by sea on schedule.
Send a photo of the part or the nameplate and the locomotive model; we take it from there.
