Parts sourcing and supply
If it runs on an EMD, ALCO or GE engine, we can source it: genuine, remanufactured or a qualified alternative, verified by an engineer and quoted with lead time, origin and the certificates your tender requires.
What you receive
- A quotation per line: part number as verified by us, description, condition (genuine, remanufactured or qualified alternative), lead time, origin and price in USD, CAD or EUR.
- Alternatives proposed in writing wherever the original is discontinued, with the reason recorded for your file.
- Certificates as listed on your tender: conformance, material, test reports, packing list, certificate of origin.
- Export packing and shipping on your Incoterm, from EXW at our Concord warehouse to DAP or DDP at your site.
- One reference number from enquiry to delivery, and one engineer who answers for it.
How the work runs
- Enquire. Send part numbers, a spreadsheet, a tender extract or a photo of the list. Our site reads documents and shows what it found; you correct it before anything is sent.
- Specify and verify. An engineer checks every reference against the engine model and application, proposes alternatives where the original is discontinued and flags anything ambiguous.
- Quote and document. You receive a line by line quotation with lead time, origin and the documents you asked for, normally within two working days.
- Deliver and support. Packing, Incoterms, freight and export documents handled from Canada. Simple courier orders can arrive in one week depending on destination.

What we cover
EMD 567, 645 and 710 series engines. ALCO 251 and 244 series. GE 7FDL and FDL-16. Power assemblies, cylinder heads, liners, pistons and rings, injectors, turbochargers, blowers, bearings, gaskets and seals, governors, cooling, lubrication and air systems, traction motor components and the electrical items around them. Industrial and MRO items where we already supply the plant.
More than 9,000 part numbers are listed in our catalog. Many more are not: most of what we source never appears online, and a part number we have not listed is still a part number we can quote.
Engine families we supply
EMD 567

1938 to 1966 production, 6 to 16 cylinders. Switchers, industrial and heritage units, marine. Some assemblies upgrade to 645.
EMD 645
Hover or tap for details
1965 onward, roots blown E and turbocharged E3 and F. The largest EMD population outside North America.
EMD 710

1984 to today, G and G3, mechanical and electronic injection. Not interchangeable with 645 in most assemblies.
ALCO 251

Four stroke V engine still in service across South Asia, Africa and Latin America; licensed builds share most parts.
ALCO 244

The predecessor family; fewer units, harder parts, still supported.
GE 7FDL

8, 12 and 16 cylinder units in export locomotives; FDL-16 is the workhorse.
Genuine, remanufactured or qualified alternative
Parts from the OEM or its licensed manufacturers, supplied with the manufacturer's documentation. Chosen when the tender demands it or when no alternative has the service history.
Rebuilt to specification with a record of what was replaced, tested, and warranted by Simor for 12 months from delivery or 6 months from installation. Typically the best value on large assemblies.
Parts we have verified against the application and are prepared to stand behind under the same Simor warranty, always stated as such on the quotation. Often the only route for discontinued items.
Sourcing for fleets, not single orders
For recurring buyers we agree a standing list with lead time bands, a consolidation cadence and a named counterpart: urgent items ship by courier within days, bulk items go by sea on schedule, and the list is reviewed each quarter against consumption. This is how a procurement department turns a reactive spares budget into a plan.

You issue a specification or a schedule of requirements; we return a compliant, line by line quotation in your format with the certificates listed against each item. For frameworks we agree fixed lead time bands, a consolidation cadence and a named counterpart.
Typical buyers: national and regional railways, government tender authorities, EPC contractors.
You send part numbers, a spreadsheet or a photo of the list; we verify, quote within two working days and ship on your Incoterm. Simple courier orders can arrive in one week depending on destination.
Typical buyers: workshops, mines, ports, marine operators, trading houses.
A defined scope with milestones: overhaul kits, a fleet reliability programme, an equipment package for a plant. One project engineer, weekly reports, expediting and inspection built in, invoicing against milestones.
Typical buyers: operators planning an overhaul, EPC procurement leads, asset owners without an OEM contract.
Engineered orders
When a request needs design, custom planning or assembly, the parts job becomes a project: we agree a scope, work with your engineers over the months it takes, and deliver an assembled, tested and documented result. See project management and advisory.
Questions we are asked
- How do you price and quote?
Per line, in USD, CAD or EUR, with condition, lead time and origin stated, validity to your tender terms. No price is shown on the website; each quotation is prepared by an engineer for your asset and destination.
- What if a part number is wrong or obsolete?
We say so before quoting, propose the current reference or a qualified alternative, and note the reason in writing so your file shows why.
- Are you an OEM distributor?
No. Simor Industrial Solutions is an independent supplier. Manufacturer names are used only to identify compatibility. What you get from independence is choice: genuine, remanufactured or qualified alternative, stated on every line.
- Can you hold stock for a fleet?
Yes. For recurring customers we agree a standing list with lead times and a consolidation cadence, so urgent items ship within days and bulk items by sea on schedule.
- Do you supply locomotive maintenance or engine rebuilds?
Through our project service: overhaul kits, rebuild planning and supervision are scoped as a managed project with your workshop or a partner shop, with parts supplied by us.
Send the part numbers or upload the list; every line is verified and quoted within two working days.
