ALCO locomotive parts
ALCO four stroke engines, above all the 251 series, still run in large numbers in South Asia, Africa and Latin America, in locomotives built under licence and in marine and stationary service. The 244 series that preceded it survives in smaller numbers. Both are long out of their original maker's production, which makes sourcing a matter of knowing where the parts are made today and which of them can be trusted.
Simor supplies ALCO 251 and 244 parts: cylinder heads and liners, pistons, connecting rods and bearings, fuel injection components, turbochargers and intercoolers, camshafts and valve gear, gaskets and seals, and the auxiliaries around the engine. Every line is quoted as genuine, remanufactured or a qualified alternative, with lead time and origin stated.
The table lists the ALCO parts in our catalog by part number. Not every part we source is listed. Add any part number to your quote list, or upload your parts list, and we quote it with the rest.

Questions we are asked
- Do you supply parts for licence built ALCO engines?
Yes. We work from the engine series and rating, and confirm interchange with the builder's references before quoting.
- Can you help with a reference we cannot identify?
Send a photo of the part and the nameplate, or the drawing number, and an engineer identifies it before the quotation.
